Submission Guidelines

Harrington Gay Men’s Literary Quarterly seeks unpublished short fiction, publishable portions of novels-in-progress, interviews, prose memoir, extended book reviews and bibliographic essays, and general-audience critical essays that are of interest to a gay male readership. We also seek cover art.   Submissions are accepted continuously without deadline. Writers of any gender or sexuality are welcome to submit their work. In addition to works in English, we are also interested in translations of non-anglophone writers. (Works should generally not exceed 8,000 words in length.)

A title page separate from the text of your material should include your name, mailing address, home phone, fax phone, email address, in addition to the piece’s title and total word count. Please provide a separate one-paragraph author biography, summarizing your work, publishing credits, and any other personal information that you choose to have published.

In the submission of your manuscript you should:

On the first page only: Type the title at the top, flush left.

Please submit two copies.

Because we try to read submissions and make decisions about them with reasonable speed (one to two months), we ask that authors extend us similar courtesy by refraining from submitting their work simultaneously to two or more publications.

Author interviews must be accompanied by an interview release form signed by the interview subject.

Translations must be accompanied by a signed letter from the original author (or the original author's literary executor) authorizing the translator's work.
