Peer Review Guidelines

 1. Review the specifications for the project/paper/assignment (e.g. format, length, topic, contents).

 2. Exchange papers in round-robin fashion (pass yours to the person to your left while receiving the paper from the person on your right) until yours is returned to you.

 3. You may make marks or notes on the paper you are reading, but you should initial these so that the writer will know the originator.

 4. Look for strengths and weaknesses, commenting on both in your notes.

 5. Identifying weaknesses will help students in their revision. Make sure that the paper fulfills the minimum requirements (e.g. page length), fulfills the topic for the project, and is relatively free of errors in conventions (e.g. format) and composition (grammar usage, sentence construction). If you are not confident about some area of usage (e.g. grammar), do not comment on it.
