I believe this is a necessary aspect to teaching the Humanities. While the historical-data component is essential to understanding the past, it is through an appreciation of Lessing's profound consideration of universal truths that, I think, students avoid futures of intellectual stagnation. I want them to remain curious and optimistic. I want them to fully embrace their present Humanities time period, stimulating the thinking of those who will tomorrow study and learn from us. I genuinely care about my students. I attempt to keep my teaching style fluid in a desire to make the classroom experience both rich and rewarding for every student and learning style
