  • "Teaching Metacognition in the Writing Classroom" A workshop presented by Victoria Brame.
    Sat. Oct 14, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., JSRCC, Parham Campus, Burnette 248. Box lunch provided.
    Participants will receive a copy of George Hillocks Jr.'s Teaching Writing as Reflective Practice. Dual Enrollment Faculty especially encouraged to attend. Registration required: notify ptompkins@jtcc.edu.
  • "New Angles on Learning and Success for Each and Every Student" A presentation of a Title III program developed at DCC. Virginia Association of Developmental Educators (VADE) regional mini-conference.
    Friday, Nov. 3, 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., JTCC Nicholas Center. Registration TBA.
  • "Teaching Students with Disabilities in the English Classroom" Presented by Dr. Bettyanne Harrison, JTCC. Dates and details TBA.

  • African Film Festival Features presentations from students and faculty in literature, history, art, theater, and International Education. Includes several African films, dancing, storytellers, art show, vendors, book signings.
