BEFORE APRIL 14, Students should do Steps 1 through 3. If this is not done before April 14,
students may have a longer wait at arena.
1. Log in to NOL - can you?
- If YES -
proceed to step 2.
- If NO because
of access problem, call SIS Help at 825-2709 or SISHelp@tncc.vccs.edu
- If NO - you need instructions, come to Gators
Conference Room, March 31 - April 11, which will have assistants and Internet
access. After April 11, help will still
be provided in Gators and/or the LRC.
2. Are your Primary name and MAIL address and
phone correct on NOL?
- If YES -
proceed to step 3.
- If NO - correct
them using Your Portfolio; if help is needed, come to Gators Conference Room,
March 31 - April 11, which will have assistants and Internet access. After April 11, help will still be provided
in Gators and/or the LRC.
3. Can you view your Fall grades or, if spring
is your first semester, do you know how to get your grades at the end of the
semester (instructions are on the TNCC website)?
- If YES -
proceed to PHASE 2
- If NO - come to
Gators Conference Room or read instructions on TNCC website
BEFORE ENTERING THE ARENA REGISTRATION ROOM, students must know
what courses they need to take in summer and/or fall. These questions will be asked by the “Triage”/Welcome staff
member at the front door of Arena on the Arena dates (see below).
4. Do you know how to see your Degree Progress
Report on NelsonOnLine?
- If YES -
proceed to step 5.
- If NO - read
instructions on TNCC website… can you now?
i. If YES - proceed
ii. If NO - come to Gators and we’ll print one for
you.
5. Do you understand your Degree Progress
Report?
- If YES -proceed
to step 6.
- If NO - you
will be referred by the Arena greeter to the Advising Center (room 323 Hastings
Hall), where the faculty advisors are located.
- NOTE: If you understand the report but want to change
your major, please visit the Student Intake Center (201 Griffin Hall) to do
that now.
6. Do you know what classes you need to take?
- If YES -
proceed to PHASE 3
- If NO - work with the advisor and don’t leave Advising Center until you have classes selected for both summer and fall
STUDENTS MUST ATTEMPT to ENROLL on NelsonOnLine. In a very few exceptional cases, they will
be served in room 208 on the client (see below).
7. Do you know how to enroll using NOL?
- If YES - enroll
from any Internet Explorer-equipped computer, including those in the ACL or the
Library.
- If NO - Come to
Arena (published dates) and we’ll help you.
Please do NOT go to the ACL or the Library if you do NOT know how to use
NOL.
8. Were you able to get all your classes on NOL?
- If YES -
proceed to PHASE 4
- If NO because
closed, use Advanced Search or come to Arena and we’ll help you.
- If NO because
of Prerequisite problems - if you believe these are erroneous, come to the
Arena or the Intake Center, and we’ll research and resolve. If you are seeking a prerequisite waiver, go
to the division office for written permission and take it to room 208 or HTO to
register in person.
- If NO because
of a Restricted Class, go to the division office for written permission and
take it to room 208 or HTO to register in person.
NOTE:
A new Enrollment Form will be used beginning in April, 2003. It takes the place of the old
Permit-to-Register Card, Schedule Adjustment Worksheet (Add/Drop Form), Name/Address
Change Form, and other documents.
NOTE:
Enrollment service in room 208 will be limited
to students who require client service.
This means that they must meet one of these criteria:
- Certified by
SISHelp as ineligible for NelsonOnLine (access problem requiring help in
Richmond); or
- Hold an
Enrollment Form signed by the division for prerequisite waiver or restricted
class override; or
- Hold an
Enrollment Form as a new TNCC student who has not yet become eligible for
NelsonOnLine.
9. Are you paying for your classes yourself?
- If YES, pay
tuition on NOL (credit card; instructions in Schedule book and on web) or in
person (check or cash) at 109A or HTO.
- If NO because
of Financial Aid - check NOL for award information and, if funds sufficient to
pay the bill in full are there, then you are done.
- If NO because
your employer or military Tuition Assistance is paying - if you registered
yourself, then you must visit the Cashier’s office. They will cover your tuition with the contract/TA form. Each time you change your schedule, you will
have to visit the Cashier’s office. If
you were registered in a group by TNCC representative, then that person will
notify Cashier’s.
- If PARTIALLY
because some of your tuition is covered by Financial Aid but not all, then pay
your portion of tuition at Cashier’s window or NelsonOnLine. If you need assistance determining the
amount that you will owe, please contact the Financial Aid Office.

NEW “BACKOUT” POLICY
- While the college reserves the right to drop unpaid classes, “backout” for non-payment of tuition is no longer guaranteed. You are financially responsible for all classes registered for and not subsequently dropped by you or the college, whether you attend or not.
